Sustainability
At LA Vi we seek to incorporate sustainable solutions into all stages of the product, from its development, raw materials to final packaging.
RAW MATERIAL
Our collections are developed in two different aspects of sustainability: use of vintage fabrics and fabrics with a sustainable focus.
1- Our capsule collections are made from vintage fabrics, with the aim of using raw materials that already exist on the market to avoid unnecessary production of material, thus making use of recycling.
All fabrics are pre-washed before being used for manufacturing; these are fabrics that have not been used in previous manufacturing.
Because they are vintage fabrics, they are unique and in limited quantities, which makes the pieces in the collection with a certain print generally exclusive.
2- We work as a product line with BCI certified raw cotton fabric, having 100% cotton in its composition - here we take into account the product's life cycle considering its future recycling; fabrics with yarns of more than one composition end up making their recycling difficult due to the mixture of fibers.
The BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) works to improve global cotton production for those who produce it, for the environment in which it is grown and for the future of the industry.
Its members are entities that represent producers, prestigious clothing brands, retailers, suppliers and other links in the cotton economic chain.
BCI farmers receive training on how to use water efficiently, care for soil health and natural habitats, minimize the impact of harmful crop protection practices, preserve fiber quality, and apply decent work principles.
BCI also promotes the use of better irrigation practices with farmers, as well as reducing the use of fertilizers. Examples include a 40% reduction in water use by farmers in Pakistan and farmers in India cutting water use in half.
In this line of action, BCI prioritizes:
- Continuous improvement of good production practices;
- Fair employment relationships;
- Transparency for the market and traceability of cotton.

Lining - Lyocell PT is the fabric used in the lining of our dresses.
100% Lyocell composition - where we select the article thinking about its final recycling, without mixing threads in its composition.
- Lyocell is an artificial fiber extracted from the cellulose of wood pulp, usually eucalyptus.
- Vegetable fiber created from cellulose uses little water in its production and, as it does not absorb odors easily, requires less washing.
During the process of developing materials by the raw material supplier, the cardboard generated is donated to a woman who resells it as her sole source of income. The supplier company is committed to not generating effluents and uses only clean technology to produce its products. It distributes income and generates value for stakeholders, supports social projects and has been seeking to develop itself within the principles of sustainability with new projects underway.
SPRING SUMMER 2022 CAPSULE COLLECTION
The collection was developed using fabrics considered to have sustainable aspects. We selected suppliers that value respecting sustainability in their DNA, incorporating solutions into the raw material development processes, such as waste and effluent treatment, gas purifying filters and renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. Certified social responsibility and using dyes that are certified biodegradable.
Fabrics used in the SS22 collection:
Flax - natural, biodegradable and compostable fiber, its cultivation requires low water consumption, with European Flax certification that guarantees the European origin of the fiber with mechanical harvesting and workers' rights in accordance with the rules of the International Labor Organization.
Tricoline Modal - Made from cellulose fiber, developed and manufactured by Lenzing. Artificial fiber of natural, renewable and biodegradable origin. From the sustainable management of reforestation areas. FSC certified. Closed loop processing - without releasing waste into the environment.
SEALS AND TAGS
The LA Vi Tag is made from compostable recycled material with daisy flower seeds in its composition, ready to add to a pot of soil to grow flowers :)
The card sent with the packaging is made from recycled paper.
Our seals contain 75% recycled material, from the production of other seals.
PACKAGING
We try to reduce or eliminate the use of plastic in our packaging as much as possible.
The LA Vi product will come packaged in paper inside a box, with paper tape closure.
COMMITMENT
Every day we are looking for more sustainable innovations. Our goal is to do this in a way that does not compromise the quality and aesthetics of our products, investing in research and creative solutions for development.
We reinforce the message that the more we support the sustainable industry, the more we will be helping the development of this niche that is so important for the fashion industry.
